Dr. Saaid Khojasteh received his medical degree from Shiraz University in Shiraz, Iran, summa cum laude. He is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and has received board certifications in Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric psychiatry. Since July 1989, Dr. Saaid Khojasteh has been serving the psychiatric needs of our community. Since he entered private practice in 1989, he has served as Chief of Department of Psychiatry at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Chief of Psychiatry at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Medical Director of Adolescent Inpatient Program and Geriatric Psychiatric Partial Programs at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Medical Director and Chief of Department of Psychiatry, St. Joseph Hospital in Wentzville and St. Charles, Associate Medical Director of Behavioral Medicine of SSM for ten years, Regional Medical Director of Lifestance Health for the state of Missouri, and lead psychiatrist at the Aviary Recovery Center [residential treatment center for drug and alcohol recovery] and McGuire Counseling Center, all the while maintaining his private practice, and continuing his teaching and clinical faculty appointments at Washington University School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of clinical psychiatry. He was the founder and President of Advent Medical Group family of companies, Electus Academy, and Alternative Behavioral Care Inpatient/Outpatient Program.
Dr. Khojasteh is a recipient of numerous awards including the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award by National Alliance for Mentally Ill (NAMI), one of 18 such identified Psychiatrists nationwide; Pedro Suarez Memorial Award of Gault Foundation for excellence in community service in St. Charles County, Champion of Older Americans Award by SSM Healthcare System of St. Louis for his genuine commitment to the well-being of geriatric adults, Honored Physician of the Year by the SSM St. Joseph Health Center Century Club, and the Mortimer Gordon Award by National Alliance for Mental Health [NAMI], St. Louis Chapter, for his sincere efforts and unwavering commitment to improving the understanding of mental illness and promoting mental health in this area. Dr. Khojasteh is a member of the Missouri American Medical Association.
While he has enjoyed the many challenges of his responsibilities, his true passion and the source of his derive stem from working closely with his patients and their families, helping to improve their lives through better and deeper understanding of mental health challenges that occur, and partnering with them in addressing the issues and promoting their mental well-being. It is through his private practice, and alliances with community-based agencies and teaching and education that he believes his many years of knowledge, earned expertise, and genuine love and respect for human beings and their best mental health will make a major impact in the society, one life at a time.
Dr. Khojasteh sees clients age pre-teen to adolescents, adults, and older adults.
He has extensive experience in treating a variety of behavioral health conditions including but not limited to treatment resistant depression, anxiety disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD], ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, chemical dependency issues [drugs and alcohol] and many others, as well as providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation [TMS] as needed.
